What we do

Great strategy is a hypothesis proven by exceptional delivery.

Most organisations are not short of ideas or awareness about what needs to change. What they are short of is the capacity to make the change happen sustainably - and then stick, without defaulting back to old habits.

What we do

Open Works helps technology-led businesses and organisations navigate significant change by designing better ways for technology, people and processes to work together. We stay involved through delivery until the change actually sticks, building the habits, structures and confidence to make it last.

The work spans strategy, operating model design, ways of working and applied AI. In practice those things are rarely separate, so we do not treat them as if they are.

What we do

Four areas. One through-line.

Strategy and operating model design

Most strategies fail to realise their objectives not because the vision is wrong but because the organisation is not designed to deliver it.

Transform existing ways of working

Organisations accumulate a lot of workarounds. Processes that once made sense now create invisible friction that everyone works around and nobody questions.

Product and project delivery

Transformation is easiest to resist when it stays theoretical. We deliver a key technology initiative using new ways of working, proving the art of the possible on real work with real stakes.

Applied AI enablement

AI adoption cannot centre around spending tokens on stalled proofs of concept. It is about understanding where AI genuinely helps in your specific context and embedding it in ways that work day to day.

Making change real

What organisations tell us is different after working with us.

Leadership teams make faster decisions with more confidence and less consensus-seeking.

Technology teams spend less time firefighting and more time delivering work that matters.

Change programmes that previously stalled start to move, because the underlying habits and structures have shifted.

Organisations stop adding tools and start improving how their people work together.

How we engage

A small number of clients. Proper attention on every one.

We work with a small number of organisations at any one time so we can stay close to the work from strategy through to delivery, building true relationships through to the point where habits evolve and change sticks.

Engagements start with a short discovery to understand what is really going on. From there, the shape depends on what the situation needs: embedded advisory, technical delivery, or a lighter ongoing relationship. The one rule we apply to all of them: if the organisation is passionate about their work and wants to see change happen, we are in.

We deliberately do not do everything. No fixed programmes, no large upfront strategy documents without delivery support, no AI tooling for its own sake. Clarity about what we are not keeps us honest about what we are.

Questions we get asked most.
